しびきせ祭
毎年十二月十五日に安徳帝を偲ぶ祭と農村の収穫儀礼行事を合わせた祭として「しびきせ祭」が行われる。
寿永四年(一一八五)に壇之浦で入水されたと伝えられる安徳天皇は、平氏の公卿方に伴われて門司の田の浦へ上陸、松ヶ江を越え長野城主を頼られ二、三ヶ月隠れておられたが、城主が亡くなったので英彦山に向って城を出られたという。横代を通り隠蓑(当時は城野村)まで来られたとき村は名もなき庵寺の屋根葺替えの最中であった。源氏の追っ手が迫ってくるのを知った村人は同情申し上げ有り合せの茅や藁などの蓑を持って天皇を御隠し申し、上から藁しび等を着せかけ気付かれぬようにし、それにより天皇御一行は逃れることができたといわれている。
祭行事では神主が御祓したあと、その年の年少者を安徳天皇に見立てて藁しびをかぶせて子供の災難を除き無事成長を祈る。その際、握りこぶ大の安徳天皇の御姿や御靴型を納めたすぼを御供えし、祭りが終わると氏子達がそれぞれを持ち帰る。春には、先帝祭というおこもりも行われている。
北九州市Shibikise Festival
The shibikise Festival is held every year on December 15 to keep the memory of the Emperor Antoku alive and also as a harvest festival in the farm village of Kakuremino. The child Emperor Antoku, who it is said was drown at Dannoura in 1185, arrived at Tanoura in Moji with the court nobles of the Heike Clan. They went by way of Matsugae to take refuge with the Lord Nagano. They hid in his castle for 2 or 3 months. But upon the death of the lord, they fled to Hikosan. They traveled through Yokoshiro and when they arrived in the village of Kakuremino (then called Jono Village), the villagers were in the middle of rethatching the local Buddhist hermitage. The villagers took pity on the emperor and hid him from the pursuing Genji Clan by covering him with a cape made of straw and on top of that piling old straw from the straw decorations (called shibi) off of the old roof of the hermitage. By doing this, the emperor was able to escape from his pursuers, it is said.
In the village, after the Shinto priest purifies the area, the smallest child is chosen to represent the Emperor Antoku and straw for roofing is thrown on this child and other children and prayers are offered for the children to keep bat luck away and so that they will grow up safely.Them straw wrappers in which small figurines of Antoku and models of shoes made from rice cakes are placed, are offered in prayer at the shrine. After the festival,parishioners of that shrine each take home one of the straw packages.
In spring, the Senteisai Festival is held to pray for Antoku.

村では、神主がお祓いをした後、一番小さな子供を安徳天皇に見立てて、その子供や他の子供に屋根用の藁を投げつけ、厄除けや子供の無事な成長を祈願する。祭りの後、氏子たちはその藁苞を一つずつ持ち帰る。
春には、安徳を祈る先帝祭が行われる。
